Toyota's R & D Moved to Indonesia

Indonesia is one of the important market for Toyota. Because of that Toyota would build a research and development (Research and Development / R & D) in Indonesia.
This was said by the President Director of PT Astra International Tbk Prijono Sugiarto in Jakarta.
"We've got a commitment from the Toyota Group that R and D to move to Indonesia. I hope this becomes an embryo, that the sons and daughters of Indonesia, the nation we are also able to create products that can be exported," he said.
Not clear where the center of research and development will be placed Toyota, but Toyota is building a major new facilities in the Falkirk area, West Java.
Obviously if R & D center has been built that will increase exports of automotive products to overseas. Currently Prijono added at the 2010 Astra Automotive Group has been exporting hundreds of thousands of vehicles either in the form of whole or parts to foreign countries, from Africa, Asia to Latin America.
"And one of the most proud of our excellent products have been exported back to Japan, we know all that Japan is very strict with quality control. The products of Astra Daihatsu Motor and Toyota Motor Manufacturing of Indonesia has been accepted back in their home country," he said.
Prijono Indonesia also hopes this year will be the biggest automotive market in Southeast Asia. "I got a report that this year Indonesia became the largest market in South East Asia, hopefully this can happen because the potential here is enormous," he said
Regarding investment, Astra Automotive Group for 10 years already invested about USD 15 trillion of funds for product development and capacity building.
"It will continue to increase given us new capacity reached 350,000 to 110,000 for Daihatsu and Toyota. And this will be increased to 430,000 to 180,000 for the Daihatsu and Toyota vehicles. Which means there are still so many trillions will we invest in the future in automotive product development and capacity , "he concluded.
